I moved into 2 Neptune Drive to get out of my large two-story home. I was a widow living alone in this house and found it very lonely.
I saw the first ad in the Canadian Jewish News and immediately sent in an application. I moved in August 2, 2001 before the building was even finished and couldn’t even sleep in the apartment until three weeks later when the alarm system was completely installed.
I have loved every minute of living here for the last 10 years. When I moved in I found 10 people – friends and relatives – who were also moving in, which gave me a feeling of community.
I introduced myself to and welcomed to the building each new person that I saw after I moved in. This way I got to know everyone, and knew everyone by first name.
There are many activities in the Social Hall and elsewhere in the building and we can pick and choose what we wish to do.
